London Design Festival

During the London Design Festival, Michèle Oberdieck exhibited alongside Miranda Watkins at the Tramshed exhibition, run by De la Espada. Two distinctive designers from different disciplines created an engaging display of design objects with contrasting forms and finishes.
The strong geometry of Miranda Watkins’ mobiles and lighting designs were nicely balanced by the free handed organic imagery in Michèle Oberdieck’s glass panels and printed fabrics.Mustard, acid yellow is the ‘pop’ colour featured across the pieces, combined with pebble grey
Oberdieck’s new products included both glass and printed fabric screens, cushions, and retro chic upholstered chairs, all characterised by her signature play of colour, texture and natural imagery.
In stark contrast to Tramshed’s urban industrial enviroment Michèle Oberdieck brings her ethereal, botanical prints, in the form of screen printed fabrics, glass panels, and vibrant cushions.
New pieces include:
1. ‘ Arches’ a bold charteuse Japanese graffiti styled abstract print on linen fused in glass, reminiscent of calligraphy. Inspired by twisted tulip stems, this piece is both light and fresh.
2. ‘Bouquet of Freesia’ glass panel- screen print on linen fused in glass with hints of brick red underlay within a soft stone grey, and an explosion of yellow petals surrounding the delicate bouquet.
3. Retro ‘Comfrey’ print chairs using a base cloth of a silk wool blend printed with lemon yellow, and white, which set off it’s wooden arching arms.
4. ‘Fir Tree’- fabric print- pen and ink marks in black & silver pigment bring form this Mountain ash. Available as fabric/m, and as cushion covers.
5. ‘Coffee Leaves’- Leaf print reminiscent of coffee beans, ajorn duchess satin, and linen cushion covers as well as slate grey silk duppion with prints of teal, and silver.
